Confident students with diverse interests
We aim to inspire girls with a wide range of opportunities outside the curriculum. The music activities
are exceptional and extremely popular. The school has three choirs and each performs at a range
of venues, such as Salisbury, Winchester and Portsmouth Cathedrals, and with prestigious groups
including the internationally renowned ‘King’s Singers’. With two orchestras, a wind band, guitar
group and chamber orchestra, all musical talents and abilities are catered for.
Sporting excellence
Sporting groups and achievements are of the highest standard. The excellent facilities include an
all-weather athletics track, a gym, hockey pitches and netball and tennis courts. We offer an
equestrian club which achieves great success, as well as cross country, dance, orienteering and
swimming to name a few. Our thriving Duke of Edinburgh scheme has 200 students achieving the
Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards each year.
Opportunities for all
Drama and Arts opportunities are wide-ranging and of a professional standard. Girls find an outlet
for their acting, dancing and management skills in productions which range from Shakespeare to
musical theatre. In addition there is an extensive range of wider opportunities including the English
Speaking Union, Oxford and Cambridge debating competitions, mock trial competition and clubs for
science, photography and creative writing.
“‘Second best’ is not in the lexicon of this

aspects of its work.”
